Up and Coming: Fitbit's Aria Wi-Fi Scale
By Kellee Bryan
Fitbit is best known for its pocket-sized activity tracker that counts your steps taken, miles covered, stairs climbed, calories burned, and hours slept. Now they've debuted a new device (this one definitely not pocket-sized) to track additional health data: the Aria Wi-Fi Scale.
Aria measures not only your weight, but also body fat percentage and body mass index. All of this data is wirelessly transmitted to Fitbit's website. Users can log in to their secure profiles via the web or mobile app to view their stats, displayed in rich graphs and charts that make it easy to see progress over time. If they choose to, users can share their data with friends on Fitbit, Twitter, and Facebook. The scale can be linked to eight separate accounts so that the entire household can track their weights.
Aria retails for $129.99 and can be pre-ordered now. It will be available sometime in the spring.
